YWAM DTS School Information

DTS-Sept 2010 Guadalajara

The DTS is designed to encourage students in knowing God personally, in character development, in building healthy relationships and in seeing their role in Christ's call to "Go into all the world and disciple all nations." The DTS family represents people of various ages, cultures, church denominations and life experiences. We seek to learn from one another to become all that God wants us to be.

A sure foundation: YWAM co-founder Darlene Cunningham says of the DTS, "I believe DTS is the most important ministry/program we have in the whole of YWAM, because it is the doorway into the mission and the University of the Nations. It is the foundation for everything, where people are met with faith, where they come to understand the history and values of YWAM; where they are presented with mission opportunities...and it's where their own vision may be fueled."

DTS lecture phase: The school includes intense and exciting sessions taught by world-renowned speakers as well as emerging YWAM leaders. It includes topics such as:

• The character and ways of God
• How to hear the voice of God
• The power of forgiveness and repentance
• YWAM Foundational Values

• How to find your destiny and calling

• Dating, Sex and Relationships
• Personal character development
• Spiritual warfare
• Evangelism and missions

The outreach phase: Outreach doesn't just happen during the overseas field assignment. It begins the moment you step onto the Guadalajara base. We give lots of ways for students to put their faith into action around our community, long before we board planes for "outreach." The contribution each student brings will help shape the school itself.

DTS teams regularly participate in community service and evangelism mini-outreaches in our area.

Previous DTS outreaches include: Mexico, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Spain, Morocco and Haiti. Each school decides upon the outreach location through prayer during the DTS.

Ministries often include evangelism, dramas, community service, acts of mercy/compassion and more.
